Minutes - Selectmen’s Meeting -October 6, 1997
Selectmen Present: Chairman, Charles Flynn, Judith Murdoch, Catherine Kuchinski, Daniel Webster, Peter Jones also Joseph Nugent, Executive Secretary.
I. Chairman Flynn called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm. The meeting was held just before the Special Town Meeting at the Indian Head Auditorium.
II. Noreen O’toole, Town Planner, made a presentation to the Selectmen outlining the reasons why her department is asking the Town for 18 extra hours for the administrative staff. Kuchinski stated she would be in favor of the extra hours. Jones suggested the Planning Board agree to report back to the Selectmen in a few months with the progress they have made with the extra hours available to them. O’Toole stated that she would be more than happy to update the Board on their progress. Kuchinski moved that the Board recommend the 18 extra hours for the administrative assistant provided they report back to the Selectmen with Their Progrees. Flynn stressed that the Selectmen are only recommending these hours until the end of this fiscal year and if no
progress is shown they may not support these hours the next Town Meeting. Webster Second the motion. 4-0 in favor of the motion. ( Flynn abstained).
III. The October Special Town Meeting Followed.
